Anywave Junior

Anywave Junior is the Sistiana Sailing Team program that introduces young sailors to competitive offshore racing through ORC/IRC regattas, professional coaching, and a strong culture of safety. The goal is to develop conscious athletes, ready to compete.

Competitive growth: transition from dinghies to offshore sailing, rotating roles, race tactics, and management.

Inclusive leadership: promoting the role of women, with recognitions such as the Generali Women in Sailing award.

Sustainability: R.Eco protocol and environmental best practices endorsed by FIV, UVAI, and the One Ocean Foundation.

Safety: advanced equipment (including AED on board) and ongoing training.

The crew, young and supported by experienced coaches, has seen Giulia Leghissa at the helm — a true example of internal growth within the team. Anywave Junior consistently competes in the main regattas of the Upper Adriatic (Settimana Velica Internazionale, Trofeo 2 Castelli, Bernetti, Barcolana, Rilke), achieving significant results in handicap racing.

RECO Responsabile Ecologico di Bordo Anywave

RECO: a new role for more conscious sailing

The RECO – Ecological Representative on Board – is a role introduced in the world of offshore sailing to promote a more conscious and sustainable approach to the sport. Born from the Anywave project of the Sistiana Sailing Team, it has received the support and recognition of the Italian Sailing Federation, the Offshore Sailing Union, and the One Ocean Foundation, progressively becoming a benchmark in the main Mediterranean competitions such as the Rolex Giraglia, the Barcolana, and the Italian Offshore Sailing Championships.

The RECO is a crew member responsible for ensuring compliance with an environmental code that guides ecological choices both at sea and in port. Among the key rules: reducing engine use in favor of sailing, avoiding waste disposal at sea, using biodegradable products and recyclable packaging, organizing waste separation on board, eliminating single-use plastics, providing portable ashtrays for smokers, retrieving any floating plastics encountered while sailing, and raising awareness among other crews to spread good practices.

Impatto Zero Anywave

Zero Impact

The 'Zero Impact' project was launched on the occasion of Barcolana 55 through the collaboration between Anywave Safilens and the Lions Club Trieste Miramar, from an idea shared by Raffaella Del Punta and Alberto Leghissa. The initiative aims to offset the emissions produced during the yacht’s engine transfers, which are sometimes unavoidable when conditions do not allow for exclusive use of the sails.

At the heart of the project is the planting of 55 olive trees on the Karst of Duino, an area severely affected by wildfires in recent years. The selection of trees and planting sites was guided by the technical expertise of agronomist Paolo Parmegiani, ensuring the best adaptation of the plants and a real environmental benefit.

The journey was not without challenges: permits and bureaucracy slowed the start of the initiative, but the first olive tree was planted at the end of September 2024, marking the tangible beginning of a project that aims to unite sport, community, and sustainability.

The collaboration with the Lions Club adds important symbolic and social value, demonstrating how associations and sports organizations can work together for the benefit of the community and the environment. With ‘Zero Impact,’ Anywave reaffirms its commitment to going beyond sporting competition, turning every regatta into an opportunity to leave a positive and lasting mark on the territory.

Charity Anywave

Charity and Social Responsibility

Anywave is committed not only to offshore sailing but also to serving as a vehicle for awareness and social support. Among its philanthropic initiatives, two key partnerships stand out: the Fondazione Banca degli Occhi del Veneto (FBOV) and the dinAMICI Association of Monfalcone.

The Fondazione Banca degli Occhi del Veneto has been working for over 35 years to promote eye tissue donation, manage corneal transplants, carry out research, and spread the culture of donation.
Anywave has chosen to support this mission by raising awareness among its audience about the importance of the gift of sight, joining communication campaigns, and promoting the conscious choice of donation.

In the Monfalcone area, the dinAMICI Association works alongside the healthcare system to improve the quality of services and make hospital spaces more humane.
Among dinAMICI’s recent projects is the creation of a new room for chemotherapy treatments at San Polo Hospital, made possible thanks to the support of the association, local donors, and partners.
Initiatives such as 'Pink October,' promoted by dinAMICI with the involvement of the community, aim to raise funds to improve care environments and oncology support services.
